RESIDENT ARTISTS
Every year, Chelsea Factory welcomes a cohort of resident artists across artistic disciplines—from composers to filmmakers to playwrights—who are at inflection points in their careers.
Artists receive a range of resources customized to their needs, such as financial support, rehearsal and performance space, production support, and opportunities for group and individualized professional development.
Chelsea Factory takes a holistic approach to the selection process, which prioritizes artists who are:
New York City-based
From historically excluded communities
At transformational inflection points in their careers
Have a need unique to Chelsea Factory’s space
Aligned with Chelsea Factory’s values of integrity, transparency, flexibility, and accountability
Chelsea Factory resident artists are selected annually. If you’re interested in introducing yourself, we invite you to complete this form.

“The work that we are creating here is shifting…it is forcing us to take a look at the work we [Soles of Duende] have created so far and decide where we want to go next. To have a space like Chelsea Factory give us the freedom and trust for ‘that thing’ to unfold without fear is a gift.”
—Brinda Guha, Soles of Duende
